It wasn't until I was editing that I noticed the thin strands of spider webs connected to the stones. And it struck me that after a tragedy or significant event you will hear people say, "I don't know how I held it together."
Perhaps, like these stones, there are times we have unseen help.
I'm not sure exactly what these forces are, but I have sensed them in time of need, helping to restore balance. I am eternally grateful for the spider webs in my life.
Some days, I stand in simple awe and gratitude. All I need do is open my eyes to witness the sun transform every leaf, every blade of grass into a luminous, glowing expanse of colour. Oh, the wonder and miracle of it all.
I remember those chilly autumn mornings on the Island.
The old apple tree is no longer there, but I will remember it, too.
Nothing with character is easily forgotten.
